The Huawei Mate Xs is now available to pre-order from today (15th March, 2020) in the UAE. Huawei Mate Xs is a reworked version of Huawei’s smartphone that unfolds into a tablet, which directly competes with Samsung’s Galaxy Fold rather than the South Korean firm’s newer, smaller Galaxy Z Flip folding phone.

Huawei has begun recruiting users for the EMUI 10 beta program for the Huawei Mate X foldable smartphone. The device is currently running on EMUI 9.1 based on Android Pie. The EMUI 10 update will bring a host of new features to the Huawei Mate X including a refreshed user interface, a new dark mode, snappier performance, multi-screen collaboration, and Huawei’s HiCar among other features.
Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona is just a few weeks away and Huawei has teased a looming announcement of a folding smartphone at the event. Huawei has taken to Twitter to announce an event at Mobile World Congress on February 24th at 2PM Barcelona time / 8AM ET, just days after Samsung's annual Unpacked festivities.
During a press event on Wednesday, Huawei said it has pushed back the release of its foldable Mate X smartphone to November. However, this is in line with statements by the company's director of consumer business mobile phones He Gang who, back in July, stated that Huawei is still optimising the foldable Mate X smartphone and will  not release it without meeting quality requirements.
Huawei has today confirmed that it will be attending Mobile World Congress (MWC2020). While the list of companies withdrawing from the event increases daily, Huawei took to Weibo to confirm the company will be attending.
