[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Samsung Flow, first debuted by the company back in November of last year, is now available on Google Play as a beta for a limited number of devices.
Samsung Flow is a platform that allows users to seamlessly transition their activities across their devices.
Samsung Flow supports four types of transitions:
1. Users may transfer an application across devices.
2. Users may act on content within an application on a different device.
3. Users may defer activity to a future point in time.
4. Samsung Flow may propagate notifications across devices so that users can act on relevant notifications in a timely fashion.
Flow will work with existing applications using Android’s share menu, and developers can provide Flow actions in their apps to create an even better experience for users. This works similarly to Apple’s Continuity feature, except that Continuity is fully automatic, while Flow requires the user to initiate the transfer to the other device.
Sync between devices is handled through dedicated Bluetooth connections, and when you don’t have a partnered device handy, you can defer tasks for later.
To use Flow, install the Flow application on your devices and add them to your collection. After that, you’re ready to go! Flow supports existing applications through Android’s Share action, allowing you to start transferring and deferring activities right away.
Flow gets even better when developers provide a Flow action in their applications, allowing them to create truly seamless transitions across devices and time.
Flow is currently available as a public beta for the latest Samsung Android devices, including:
- Galaxy S5, S6, and S6 Edge
- Galaxy Alpha
- Note 4 and Note Edge
- Galaxy Tab S
