LG inadvertently leak LG G3 Stylus smartphone

LG has inadvertently revealed a new version of its LG G3 smartphone, called the LG G3 Stylus, in an online advert for the G3 Beat.

The smartphone appears in the closing shot of a promotional video for the LG G3 Beat, a smaller version of the company’s flagship, the G3. The promotional video has been removed online.

The phone is shown with a removable stylus very similar to the S Pen used by the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

With the IFA technology trade show kicking off in Berlin on 4 September, we suspect the G3 Stylus will make an appearance, as appearing in this video would suggest it is almost ready for launch.

Previous leaks point to the G3 Stylus having a screen resolution of just 540 x 960, a long way short of the 2560 x 1440 offered by the regular G3. The photo suggests the G3 Stylus could be slightly larger than the regular 5.5-inch G3, although we’ll have to wait for confirmation on that.

The G3 Stylus will go up against the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which is widely expected to be announced at the start of September. Samsung is holding a media event in Berlin on the 3rd, where the Note 4 is expected to launch.
