Cisco to end WebEx Meetings support for BlackBerry

Another day day and another major company announces they are ending BlackBerry support

Cisco has announced that they are to stop supporting and selling Cisco WebEx Meetings for BlackBerry OS 6, 7, and 10 beginning January 4, 2017.

BlackBerry users will no longer have access to Cisco WebEx Meetings application from BlackBerry World and won’t receive technical support and help page support for the BlackBerry OS 6, 7, and 10.

If you’re an existing user of Cisco WebEx Meetings for BlackBerry OS 6, 7 and 10, you’ll still have access to WebEx meetings until the end-of-use date, which is April 4, 2017.

On April 4, 2017, Cisco will completely disable Cisco WebEx Meetings for BlackBerry OS 6, 7 and 10 access to WebEx meetings.

The company will still support users of BlackBerry Android devices with Cisco WebEx Meetings for Android. The company state they will support those existing and future secure BlackBerry Android based BlackBerry devices including the BlackBerry PRIV, BlackBerry DTEK50 and the upcoming DTEK60.

The company do point out that BlackBerry users will still have the ability for users to join any Cisco WebEx video conference through their standard dial in.
