TCL teases Qwerty Keyboard BlackBerry Smartphone ahead of CES 2017

We already know that TCL will be unveiling its new product lineup at CES 2017, featuring a new BlackBerry-branded smartphone, as well as TV and other mobile technologies.

Steve Cistulli, President and General Manager for TCL Communication (TCT), North America today tweeted a teaser of the qwerty keyboard BlackBerry handset.

According to “rumors”, the new keyboarded ‘Mercury’ will feature an unusual 1620×1080 resolution with a 420 ppi pixel density, which works out to a 4.63-inch display size. There’s also expected to be a Snapdragon 625 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage.

The company will be holding their ‘TCL Media Day Event’ on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Mandalay Bay, Level 2, Mandalay Bay Ballroom F. The event takes place from 7 pm to 7.45 pm (11 am to 11:45 am EST).

The new agreement gives TCL the right to make and sell BlackBerry-branded smartphones in all countries except India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and Indonesia, some of BlackBerry’s biggest handset markets.

BlackBerry in September signed a deal giving Indonesia’s BB Merah Putih the rights to make and sell new devices in that country, its largest handset market.
