BBM for iOS gets an upgrade, brings Broadcast messaging to specific categories and more

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Last week, BlackBerry released an update to BBM for BlackBerry 10 and Android that brought a much needed improvement in broadcast messaging, allowing users to send broadcast messages to specific categories.

The corresponding upgrade has now been released for iOS users.

BlackBerry are insistant on pushing emails while more successful, competitive apps are doing things with phone numbers. With that view, this update allows you to send and receive messages with email contacts in your address book that are not yet BBM contacts.

You can now annoy, sorry send or receive bbm messages to contacts who have email addresses but who aren’t BBM contacts.  That contact will then recveive a BBM invitation by email.
