iPhone 7 Plus and Jet Black iPhone 7 sell out ahead of launch

iPhone 7 Plus and all Jet Black iPhones 7 sold out ahead of launch

Apple has announced that initial quantities of the iPhone 7 Plus have sold out globally as the company prepares to roll out its new smartphones Friday.

Not only has the Plus model sold out in all colours, the smaller iPhone 7 has also sold out in the new jet black colour.

Customers who enter Apple Stores Friday will not be able to purchase the sold-out phones on site, but they can continue to place orders for their desired models on-line.

Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller said in a statement.

“We couldn’t be happier with the initial response to iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and we are looking forward to beginning sales through our retail stores and partners around the world.

Beginning Friday, limited quantities of iPhone 7 in silver, gold, rose gold, and black will be available for walk-in customers at Apple retail stores. During the online pre-order period, initial quantities of iPhone 7 Plus in all finishes and iPhone 7 in jet black sold out and will not be available for walk-in customers. Availability at partner locations for all finishes may vary and we recommend checking directly with them.

Customers can continue to order all models in all colors on apple.com. We sincerely appreciate our customers’ patience as we work hard to get the new iPhone into the hands of everyone who wants one as quickly as possible.”

The statement makes it clear that all iPhones will be in short supply for walk-in customers without a reservation.

Breaking with tradition, the company will not release first-weekend sales of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, saying the figure is more a reflection of supply than demand.

If you are looking for an iPhone Plus or an iPhone 7 in Jet Black, then you should order online asap as you will be lucky to find one in-store anywhere.
