BlackBerry have released an update to the BBM for Android Beta which brings Private Chats and Material Design.
While material design is a long overdue feature, it is an important feature as it makes the app look and act like a modern Android app.
The biggest new feature is the implementation of private chats. In a private chat, your contact’s name is hidden, and new message notifications are turned off. Your chat is automatically deleted after a short time, or when you end the private chat.
Another new feature is the ability to edit a message. If you use message retraction, you can now edit a sent message.
Finally, BlackBerry have added the ability to publish directly from your BBM Feed.
The BBM for Android is still a limited beta but the update is available now for those in the Beta Group.
