BBM brings Faster Sign-ups and Sign-ins for New Users and more

Creative Media Works has announced the latest update to BBM for Android and iOS, which brings faster Sign-ups and Sign-ins for New Users and more.

New users can now quickly and securely sign-up for BBM with just a one-time password. This new feature also speeds up the login process, as it auto-detects your country code based on your SIM card information. Once BBM verifies that the number you entered is a valid mobile phone number, you’ll get a one-time password via SMS to confirm.

The new Timeline previously only available on the Andrpid version is now available to iOS users. Access the new Timeline by tapping your name or avatar on the Me Tab, where you’ll see a collection of all the status updates you’ve posted from your own Timeline screen or Feeds.

BBM no longer requires phone number verification when creating a new Custom PIN—saving you the time and trouble of the two-step confirmation process where you had to insert your phone number and wait for verification.

BBM is really only relevant in Indonesia and similar countries nowadays, and this version includes a new in-chat video player, allowing everyone to watch video inside group and 1:1 chats without leaving the chat environment! When you share a video, or someone else shares a video with your group, everyone in the chat can tap the video to play it, continuing the conversation while watching a live or on-demand video. This is Indonesia only of course.
