With that aim in mind, BlackBerry have released an update to their Content Transfer App for Android.
BlackBerry Content Transfer moves data that’s saved on your previous device to your new PRIV by BlackBerry smartphone. You can move pictures, videos, contacts, and more. BlackBerry Content Transfer is compatible with Android, iOS, BlackBerry 10, and BlackBerry 7.
The Content Transfer app moves data that is saved in the storage space on your Android (v4.0 and later) device. Data that is associated with a web-based account, such as contacts and calendar events, is transferred when you add the account to your new device.
Your data can be transferred with password-protected encryption using Google Drive or a private Wi-Fi network.
Content Transfer moves the following data from your Android device:
- Contacts
- Calendar
- Music
- Videos
- Pictures
- Documents
What’s New:
- You can transfer text messages (SMS) and email accounts from an Android device to your BlackBerry device powered by Android.
- You can transfer tasks and email accounts from a BlackBerry 7 device to your BlackBerry device powered by Android.
- A progress indicator shows you approximately how long the transfer will take.
- If you use a media card or Google Drive to transfer your content, you can see how much space is available on your media card or Google Drive.
