BlackBerry Hub for Android update brings enhancements and bug fixes

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]BlackBerry have released an update to the BlackBerry Hub app for Android, bringing enhancements and bug fixes.  Unfortunately, the changelog is the same as the last update earlier this month, so it is difficult to say exactly what has changed.

The BlackBerry Hub brings your communications into one place so you can manage your messages in one location. Connecting with your friends and colleagues has never been simpler. You can quickly organise and take action on emails, text and BBM messages, phone calls, social media notifications, calendar invitations and more – directly from your message list.

Previously a BlackBerry 10 exclusive, the BlackBerry Hub was proclaimed the industry’s best communications app.

Once you experience the BlackBerry Hub, you’ll wonder how you lived without it.

Key Features:

  • Compose email messages and social posts, or respond directly to messages and calendar invitations
  • Use Conversation View for a clear view of all the messages in a conversation with the latest message always open for quick review
  • Snooze items so that you can view them at a later date, time or location
  • Quickly select recipients for email messages using suggested contacts. File email messages and manage all your folders
  • Search for messages or contacts saved directly on your device or on the email server
  • Peek into your calendar to see your next five meetings
  • Quickly identify unread messages via the red BlackBerry spark indicator

What’s New:

  • Quickly filter to unread, snoozed, high importance, flagged or muted messages with a pinch gesture. With a simple gesture, Hub will filter to your choice of snoozed items, unread items, emails marked as high importance, flagged emails, or muted conversations. By default, the pinch gesture filters to unread messages, including both email and integrated social / instant messaging content, which can be customized by visiting Display and Actions in BlackBerry Hub and tapping Pinch Filter Criteria.
  • Use Ctrl + Enter to send messages
  • Integration of Viber notification content into the BlackBerry Hub
  • Twitter refresh: With a refresh button, it is now easier to check for new content. Pressing the refresh button will manually sync and retrieve the newest Twitter posts.
  • Performance improvements for opening messages and conversations
  • General Improvements:
    • Large email conversations now open significantly more quickly due to an improved design which hides read messages by default. Blocks of three or more read messages will be “collapsed” into a segment indicating the number of hidden messages, while the first and last message in the conversation are always shown. Unread messages in a conversation are shown by default.
    • Improvements have been made to reduce the need for manually dismissing the spark, and to better follow the state of content within the Hub.
  • Other bug fixes and performance improvements
