MomentCam Hong Kong has released BBMoji, an app allowing users to create customised emojis and “expressive and funny stickers of yourself” and your friends on BBM.
Interestingly, BBMoji appears to be a companion app for the consumer version of BBM, as the app states that in order to use it, you need to have have the latest version of BBM installed.
Created Emojis can be downloaded and saved as a GIF which you can then share via the usual share options.
Just why it is not baked into BBM is a bit of a mystery at the moment. Whether it is down to a licensing issue with Creative Media or not is speculation but it would certainly appear to be an early release and I’m not sure at this stage where we will see it going.
At this point, I also find it difficult to see a difference between this and Momentcam’s Cartoons & Stickers app
To use the app:
- Take a selfie or select a picture from your Gallery to generate an avatar.
- Pick your gender and age
- Customize your avatar entirely by choosing preferred eye shape, face shape, hair look, glasses, beard, and many more!
- Create and share your own personalized BBMoji stickers that match your moods for a more expressive conversation!
