Netop Announces Enhanced Remote Control for Android

Netop’s updated mobile solution with support for Samsung and other Android devices now available from the Google Play store

Netop announced today a new release of its leading-edge solution for remote control of Android devices. Netop Remote Control Mobile for Android is optimised for use in Samsung devices. With Netop Remote Control for Android, service teams can provide fast, full-featured support to field employees using Samsung tablets and other devices. This release also extends remote support to non-Samsung devices, giving support teams a single, consolidated tool for remote control to a wide array of devices and platforms.

“We’ve seen massive growth in the number of Android devices deployed by our customers and great diversity in how they are used” said Kurt Bager, CEO of Netop.

“Android tablets have been adopted as point-of-sale devices by large and small retailers and are becoming the device of choice for field employees of major utilities and medical staffs at large hospitals. We’ve created a solution that allows our customers to fully support these devices, ensure fast issue resolution and decrease device and employee downtime.”

Available from the Google Play store and Netop.com, Netop Remote Control for Android lets field employees request support directly from their device. Once a help session is initiated, support agents have a complete view of the employee’s screen, just as if the device was in front of them. Chat and other communication functions ensure a clear understanding of the support issue; file transfer, program management, full system information and other advanced features enable fast issue resolution.

  • System information – Collect inventory and detailed asset information such as installed software, network information, processor details and battery status.
  • Chat – Use two-way text chat to communicate with end users during a remote support session.
  • Program management – launch programs on the remote device and allow support staff to maintain a library of common programs for quick access.

  • Snapshot storage – capture the remote screen and send this directly to the local clipboard or bitmap file.

In addition, Netop Remote Control for Android extends chat, file transfer and system inventory capabilities to non-Samsung devices running Android 2.2 or later.
