WhatsApp voice calling rolling out to everyone on Android

WhatsApp users have been eagerly awaiting the call feature and it is finally here for everyone on Android. WhatsApp started rolling out voice calling feature for Android users earlier this year. It was available only as invite-only option that opened occasionally, which required a person who already have calling feature to call you to unlock it.

The latest WhatsApp update is now rolling out everywhere – without any WhatsApp call ”invitation” required.

Once you’ve got the latest version, you’ll see a revamped interface with three tabs for calls, contacts and chats.

The latest version of WhatsApp, v2.12.19, does not require someone with WhatsApp call feature already activated to call you. All you need to do is hit up the WhatsApp website and download v2.12.19.

You will need to have Unknown Sources enabled in your device’s security settings first though but then all you do is install the downloaded app and you’ll see the three tab view with the ability to make and receive WhatsApp calls.

If you’re not so keen on allowing Unknown Sources, you can wait until the latest version hits the Play Store, which is currently v2.12.5.

If you want WhatsApp calling now, you can download it from the WhatsApp Wesbite here.
