Pebble has announced its third  Kickstarter campaign, offering two affordable, heart rate-enabled smartwatches and a hackable, 3G ultra-wearable for phone-free running with GPS and music.
The Pebble 2 goes back towards the design of the original Pebble, but adds heart rate monitoring. The Time 2 features a color display, and keeps the design of the Pebble Time, but now the battery is claimed to last 10 days. Pebble is only offering a steel version of the Time 2.
The new piece is the Pebble Core, which can be used for a variety of purposes. Pebble is offering a Pebble Core for Runners and a Pebble Core for Hackers.
The running one clips on to your running gear, letting you leave your phone at home. You can listen to music and more without needing to lug around anything else, while the hackers version is a keychain computer that “becomes your magic button for anything.”
Core for Running
Core streams music directly from Spotify, so you stay motivated and on pace. You can also use Core’s 4GB of built-in storage to access your favorite playlists, podcasts, and audiobooks.
Core has a built-in GPS to track your location wherever you may roam and provides real-time stats via audio cues while exercising and syncs with Runkeeper, Strava, and other fitness apps over WiFi when you get back.
Exercise spurs creativity. Capture your brilliant ideas on the go with Core’s voice note functionality.
We hope you won’t need it, but if you’re ever stuck out on the road, Core can send an emergency SMS with your location.
Core gives you complete on-the-go freedom with 3G connectivity. It accepts a micro-SIM card and works with most pay-as-you-go and existing cellular plans.  Core also works without a SIM card or cellular plan, using WiFi to sync offline music and workouts and supports both Bluetooth and wired headphones.
Core may be tiny, but it will still give you up to 9 hours of location tracking and offline music on a single charge. Drop it on a wireless charging pad and grab it on your way out the door knowing it’ll always be charged. Pebble Core comes with a USB charging cable included, and you can add on an optional wireless charging pad for just $20.
Core for Hackers
Simplistically, Core is a tiny, unlocked Android 5.0 computer. You can transform Core into a magic button for any use case you dream up. It comes consumer-ready with GPS tracking, WiFi, Bluetooth, and 3G connectivity, a voice interface, and more
Core’s two buttons can be configured to do whatever you like. Order an Uber, open your garage door, or turn on the lights with a click of a button. GPS location-tracking is built right in. Attach Core to your valuables and use it to find your lost keys, dog, or suitcase!
Core comes packaged with WiFi, Bluetooth, and 3G connectivity. Connect sensors or Bluetooth devices and program Core to act as a relay to the Internet. Add a Bluetooth or wired headset to create an always-on walkie-talkie or personal voice assistant.
Core can take your Pebble watch to the next level. When paired, Core provides a network connection for internet-enabled Pebble apps.
All of these are now available for backing on Kickstarter. Pricing for the Pebble Core starts at $69 on Kickstarter, and it will retail for $99. The Pebble 2 is available for $99, with its retail price being $129, and the Time 2 can be yours for $169 ahead of its $199 retail pricing.
Shipments look to begin as early as September 2016 for select units, or as late as January 2017 for others.
