Vodafone has announced that 4G will be included in all new pay monthly contracts taken out from today. As of today, if you pick one of Vodafone’s new 12 or 24 month bundles it will include access to the 4G network.
Standard Bundles offer either 500MB or 1GB of monthly data, and access to 4G, as well as a choice of UK minutes and text amounts.
Red Bundles, meanwhile, offer unlimited UK mobile and landline calls and texts in addition to 4G with more monthly data, letting you choose from 2, 6, 10 or 20GB of monthly data.
Red Value Bundles, brings options for 2, 4, 6, 15 or 25GB of monthly data, along with access to one of  three 4G entertainment packs – except when choosing the Red Value 2GB Bundle. For those new to Vodafone 4G, that means you can choose from Spotify Premium, Sky Sports Mobile TV or a NOW TV Entertainment Pass for up to 24 months at no extra cost. And that’s on top of unlimited UK mobile and landline calls and unlimited texts.
Red Value Bundles also include calls home from countries that are included in the Europe Zone when opted into Vodafone EuroTraveller.
Vodafone UK consumer director Cindy Rose said:
“Our customers told us that they wanted more data and access to our 4G network, regardless of what agreement they are on,â€Â
“Whether they’re passionate about this season’s must-see boxsets on NOW TV, the latest tunes on Spotify Premium, or keeping up to date with all the action on Sky Sports Mobile TV, they can do thanks to our 4G network and bigger data allowances.â€Â
If you’re on an existing standard 3G plan but want to upgrade to one of the new Pay monthly 4G bundles, you can switch over for a one-off fee of £20 – or for free if your new 4G bundle costs at least £5 more each month.
It means that from today, UK smartphone users will only be able to take out a 3G contract with O2. Vodafone have a cheeky offer for O2 and EE customers though. From today until 30 June 2015 any EE or O2 customer that switches to one of Vodafone’s new Pay monthly bundles will get a £20 welcome bonus.
