Android 7.1.1 Nougat to roll out to Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7edge in January

Samsung has confirmed that Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge owners will be able to download Android 7.1.1 Nougat and upgrade their devices in January 2017.

Samsung confirmed the release date to its Galaxy Beta Program members and pushed out the fourth major Android Nougat beta to devices last week. Alongside the update on the official build of Android 7.1.1 Nougat , Samsung confirmed that Galaxy Beta Program is now officially closed

The company will not release a new beta version and will not provide any individual feedback related to “Error report” and “Suggestion” in the app. Feedback will only be managed via “community” from now on.

The South Korean company said it will continue to monitor the community for any problems users might be having with the new software.

Samsung certainly seems confident of meeting the provided time frame, as revised user manuals based on Android 7.0 are now available online for both devices.

The revised Galaxy S7 edge manual is available in English, Dutch, and German, while the S7 manual seems to have been updated only in English at the time of publishing.

Rumours point to the Note 5, Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge receiving the update soon after.
