BlackBerry Motion now available in South Africa

The BlackBerry Motion is now available in South Africa via Cellucity. BlackBerry Motion is the first BlackBerry smartphone to offer IP67 water and dust resistance, a new anti-scratch display technology, and the largest battery ever in a BlackBerry.

In addition to the IP67 water and dust resistant rating and the new 5.5-inch Full-HD Premium Anti-Scratch Display, the BlackBerry Motion features a hardened aluminum frame and soft-grip textured back to provide greater durability and protection for real life everyday use.

It also comes with the largest battery ever in a BlackBerry smartphone (4,000mAh), offering 32+ hours of mixed use.. When a charge is required, Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 enables up to a 50 percent charge in roughly 40 minutes using a USB Type-C charger. Powered by Android 7.1 Nougat, this all-new BlackBerry smartphone gives customers access to the entire Google Play™ store and will receive monthly Andoid security updates. It will be upgraded to Android Oreo in the new year,

Customers can also experience an improved customizable Convenience Key that brings even greater functionality and context to the quick-access physical key – unique to BlackBerry smartphones. This feature now includes four customizable profiles for Home, Car, Office and User, allowing for three different shortcut options that can be triggered by a home WiFi network, in-car Bluetooth, meetings that are synced to BlackBerry Hub or apps that are most commonly used. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the front of the device, which a doubles as a physical home button for added ease of use.

You can buy the Blackberry Motion now at Cellucity on Vodacom. The price of the handset is R7 399 but it is currently on sale for R6 999. Contract pricing starts at R652 per month.
