Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 750G, a new entrant in the 7-series lineup of Snapdragon chips. It comes with 5G support, the latest AI engine and a more powerful CPU and GPU.
The new SoC features a Qualcomm Snapdragon X52 5G Modern-RF System that supports both mmWave and sub-6 GHz, SA and NSA modes, TDD, FDD, Dynamic Spectrum Sharing, and global roaming and global multi-sim.
The Snapdragon 750G 5G processor partners with a Qualcomm Adreno 619 GPU to deliver high-quality graphics with up to 10% better graphics rendering compared to the Snapdragon 730G. All this while maintaining a lower internal temperature to keep phones from heating up.
With 10-bit HDR, the processor is able to offer over 1 billion shades of color in the Rec 2020 color space. Combining all these with the unmatchable speeds of 5G, the Snapdragon 750G 5G is able to provide immersive, uninterrupted gameplay.
In addition to its gaming capabilities, it also features the latest 5th generation Qualcomm AI Engine. This enables cameras to support cameras up to 192 megapixels as well as dual capture using a 32+16 megapixel configuration.
The AI also allows up to 2.0 Trillion Operations Per Second (TOPS) which is a 20% improvement compared to the Snapdragon 730G. Additionally, this new chip also boasts of better performance in both CPU and GPU when compared to the previous model.
A number of companies are already working with Qualcomm to produce new devices carrying the Snapdragon 750G 5G. Xiaomi, in particular, will be the first to launch the first commercial smartphone based on this processor.

Other Snapdragon 750G 5G commercial devices are expected to be available by the end of 2020.
