Samsung Galaxy Home Mini speaker to launch on February 12

Samsung is to launch the Galaxy Home Mini on February 12 and will be available in South Korea on February 12, the day after the Unpacked event, where the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Z Flip are expected to be unveiled.

The Galaxy Home Mini reportedly comes with features most already expect, including AKG speakers, smart home connectivity, and Bixby voice assistant, all of which are owned by Samsung.

One standout feature of the Galaxy Home Mini is the inclusion of an infrared function that allows it to control older appliances that cannot connect to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

The IR functionality is interesting, but it does limit placement of the Galaxy Home Mini; the smart speaker will need to be within view of any appliance its connected to via infrared.

The Galaxy Home Mini allows ‘Multi-Room Speaker’ so you can listen to the same music anywhere in the room.

In South Korea, it will be available on E-Land, Hi-mart, nationwide digital plaza, and Samsung’s own website. Price tag reads 99000 won which is around $83 in the US.
