Sony Xperia Z2 goes on sale in Taiwan

Sony has started its global rollout of the Xperia Z2 today. The handset is only available in Taiwan, which was reportedly chosen to be “among the first wave of countries” to get the Z2.

The Xperia Z2 will see a wider availability beginning April, when it’s going to reach Europe and other Asian markets.

Taiwanese customers can buy the smartphone now for around 23,900 TWD. The price includes some nice Sony accessories, like a digital noise cancelling headset and a magnetic charging dock.

Running Android 4.4 KitKat, the Xperia Z2 brings significant improvements over last year’s Xperia Z1: a 5.2-inch 1080p display with Live Color LED technology, a new quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, and 3GB of RAM. Like its predecessor, the new Xperia is dustproof and waterproof (IP58).[signoff predefined=”Enjoy this?” icon=”icon-users”][/signoff]
