Huawei and TomTom have signed an agreement where Huawei will use TomTom maps as an alternative to Google Maps on its smartphones.
TomTom spokesman Remco Meerstra said the deal had been closed some time ago but is only now being made public by the company.
The deal between Huawei and TomTom includes global maps, real-time traffic information, and navigation software.Â
Recently, Huawei Mobile Services 4.0 beta was announced which updates a bunch of its development kits including the account kit, push kit, wallet kit, analytics kit, drive kit, and game services. Part of these new updates includes the deal with TomTom.
