Partnering with Microsoft, Good Technology brings secure mobility to tablets
Good Technology today announced the industry’s first support for secure enterprise productivity solution for Windows 8.1 platform in the Good Enterprise Mobility Management Suites.
The release of Good for Enterprise for Windows 8.1 in the suites provides IT with the ability to deliver heightened productivity and security on Windows 8.1 tablets.
“Twenty percent of IT buyers are planning to buy a Microsoft Surface tablet in the fourth quarter of 2014, second only to Apple’s iPad, according to our ChangeWave Research service,” says Chris Hazelton, research director, Enterprise Mobility at 451 Research.
“This means that enterprise mobility management vendors need to support Windows 8.1 alongside other mobile operating systems, allowing users everywhere to be more productive with anytime access to email, calendar and contacts – quickly, easily and securely.”
The new offering furthers Good’s commitment to delivering consistent cross-platform enterprise mobility management. With continuing strong heterogeneous mix of mobile devices in organizations, this solution provides IT with the needed consistent management and security to simplify deployment, ease help desk support and lower overall total cost of ownership.
Further, the Good EMM Suites are appropriate for organizations deploying multiple mobility models including bring your own device (BYOD), corporate owned personally enabled (COPE) and kiosk solutions.
“As Enterprise customers today continue to deploy a broad portfolio of devices, they demand solutions that embrace multiple operating systems,” said Christy Wyatt, chairman and chief executive officer, Good Technology.
“Microsoft is a strong force in the enterprise and we are thrilled that our relationship with Microsoft has enabled us to be the first and only to deliver this service to our customers.”
“Organizations across the globe are looking for highly secure, easy-to-use productivity solutions on tablets,” said Colin Kerr, director of business development for financial services at Microsoft Corp.
“We are excited to extend our long-running relationship with Good Technology to address this opportunity for our joint customers in financial services and other industries, on one of the fastest-growing platforms in the industry.”
The Good for Enterprise app for Windows 8.1 comes as part of Good’s Enterprise Mobility Management suites, and enables users to use the intuitive touch-interface to check and respond to emails, sync their contacts, create, edit and delete meeting requests and securely view documents , all from their Windows 8.1 tablets.
