New Design of Resco Mobile CRM App Now Available on Android and Windows Surface

Resco releases the 4th major update of its mobile CRM solution for Dynamics CRM this year. This release brings the re-invented design of the app to every tablet and phone.

The Winter update of Resco’s mobile solution for Microsoft Dynamics CRM is about to be released today, just in time before the holiday break.

This update brings a variety of new features to the mobile solution. The most talked about is the new user interface of the app. As Resco mentions, the new design of the application was positively accepted by its iPhone and iPad users.

“The reaction to the new concept of the app was far better than we expected. That’s why we decided to make it available to all users, so no one would be left out,” Radomir Vozar, CEO at Resco, explains.

The list of new improvements includes:

  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 support
  • New user interface for Android and Windows Surface apps
  • Complete re-design of Windows Surface application
  • Support for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus display resolution
  • Select from ‘search as you type’ or ‘wait for the enter key’ type of search
  • Decide which activities in the Calendar will be read-only
  • Inline search for lookup fields – searches for records as you type
  • Android 5.0 a.k.a. Lollipop support

User interface

  • New user interface for Android and Windows Surface apps — the new design concept introduced is now available on additional platforms
  • Complete re-design of Windows Surface application — new, fresh design of the app (moving towards unifying the experience across all platforms)
  • Support for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus display resolution — the app has been optimized for larger screens of new iPhone models

Color pickers

  • Woodford now offers convenient color pickers wherever a color can be changed (previously only hex values could be used)
  • Change background color — set rules to display different background colors on lists (e.g. background of a records will change based on its type, amount of revenue or priority)
  • Select headers to show on a record’s form — choose between 3 options (No Header, Show Title, Show Icon and Title)

Configuration

  • Configuration of associated views — choose the default type of view (list, chart or a map) or the default action for the tab (create new, add existing, manage on/off)
  • Configurable search — the default ‘search as you type’ can be replaced by ‘wait for the enter key’ if the search slowed down the performance of the app
  • Option to add search into a Dashboard list — users will be able to search within the dashboard lists
  • Option to include an ‘add button’ for a Dashboard list — users can add new records directly from the dashboard
  • Read-only activities in the Calendar — configure which activities cannot be dragged & dropped within the calendar
  • View rule in Calendar — by using a ‘rule variable’, system admins can show custom topics for calendar events (such as subject + required action, or Location + assigned user, etc.)

HTML and JavaScript

  • HTML contact information form — contact info form is now in HTML, which can be used to add custom actions, iFrames and other functionality to it
  • JavaScript Bridge support for color themes and app images — an HTML file can obtain app images and app colors from the customization
  • JavaScript Bridge support for saving of attachments and for loading them in an online mode
  • Update GPS functionality also available on iPad 2 — using a wider area for obtaining the coordinates via WiFi

Miscellaneous

  • Dynamics CRM 2015 support — mobile clients and the new version of Woodford customization tool are compatible with Microsoft Dynamics 2015 (formerly known as Vega update)
  • Inline search for lookup fields — searches for records as you type (cross-entity, from default lookup views)
  • Added ADFS support for SharePoint Online — companies that expose their server via ADFS can have SharePoint documents in their Mobile CRM app
  • Optimized synchronization for simple cases — sync process is now faster when it comes to database cleanup, synchronization of deleted records and upload of Woodford customizations to the server
  • Add Fetch conditions from linked entities to the primary entity filter — conditions AND and OR can be used in filters, also setup of inner/outer link mode for fetch
  • Android 5.0 a.k.a. Lollipop support
  • Upgrade installation of Windows desktop client — explicit uninstall is no longer needed when downloading a newer version

The new update is readily available for download/upgrade as of today. All existing customers and partners of Resco can obtain it at no extra charge as part of their product package.
