Amazon today launched Prime Now in Scotland, offering one-hour delivery on more than 15,000 popular items, to Prime members in selected postcodes in Glasgow.
Prime members in Glasgow and surrounding areas can choose delivery within one hour of ordering for £6.99, or free delivery within a choice of two-hour, same-day delivery slots between 10am and 10pm, seven days a week. Two-hour delivery windows are available in Hamilton, Motherwell, Kilmarnock and Cumbernauld.
Customers can choose from thousands of items, including essentials such as nappies, coffee, chocolate and fresh milk, as well as other popular items like games consoles, toys, gifts and sports equipmentâ€â€all via a simple and easy-to-use mobile app.
Prime members already benefit from One-Day Delivery on millions of products on Amazon.co.uk, access to thousands of popular movies and TV episodes through Prime Video, access to one million songs to stream and download through Prime Music, 30-minute early access to Lightning Deals on Amazon.co.uk, and access to one million Kindle books to borrow and unlimited photo storage with Prime Photos.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
Jason Weston, director of Amazon’s Prime Now service in the UK said,

Prime Now is now available to more than 30% of the UK population following the London launch in June 2015 and the service has spread rapidly to Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Portsmouth, South Yorkshire, Surrey and surrounding areas. One of the fastest Amazon Prime Now deliveries this month was Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for PS4, which was ordered at 11:10am, sent out of Amazon’s delivery station in Leeds and delivered at 11:20am to a postcode in Beeston, taking just 10 minutes from click to delivery.
Customers in selected areas in and around Glasgow have access to more than 15,000 products which will also include a range of chilled and frozen items such as ice-cream, apples, cheese and bread. The most popular purchases on Prime Now so far this year include bottled water, milk, Pepsi Max and Terry’s Chocolate Orange.
Harry Potter fans in Glasgow will be some of the first customers to receive the highly anticipated Harry Potter And The Cursed Child, by J.K Rowling, delivered at no extra cost as part of their Prime membership on its release night – Saturday 30th July. Potterheads using the Prime Now app from 22:00 up to 23:45 on 30th July can choose to get the book delivered from midnight until 02:00, while slots remain available.
