The App Developers has announced it has made it to the semi-final shortlist of the Virgin Media Business Pitch to Rich competition and with voting opening this week, with a 10k prize for one of the voters – the team at the firm are ready to go all the way and take the crown.
Pitch to Rich is a brand new Virgin Media Business initiative supported by Richard Branson and many of the country’s top investors, CEOs and entrepreneurs.
David Gandy, Justine Roberts, Jo Malone and Mr Branson himself will be among others on the judging panel, and the entire competition is offering an unprecedented £1m business accelerator prize fund to support three winning businesses in different categories.
Being chosen as one of the thirty-strong semi-finalists is a huge accomplishment for The App Developers, which was founded back in 2011 and has grown into one of the most sought-after app development firms in the country.
The company now employs fourteen full-time staff across three locations, with plans for a fourth venue in 2015 and winning the Pitch to Rich competition could give them further impetus as they strive for growth and expansion.
Ben Hogan, one of the co-founders of The App Developers, says,

The App Developers has already experienced a taste of fame when they were featured on the BBCs show, Be Your Own Boss, for their first few months of trading.
The show helped give The App Developers crucial exposure, but it was the hard work of founders Ben and Sam that has seen the business grow from two employees working from their bedrooms to a firm with a national presence and a glowing reputation.
The business started in the bedrooms of both Sam & Ben, who worked long and hard turning the dream into reality, and since launch have grown the business from 2 employees to 10 in less than 12 months.
They develop apps for all devices and tablets, including desktop computers.

Voting for Pitch to Rich is open now, and will close on 22nd June. The three entrants with the most votes in each category will be announced in a live finale event on 26th June.
