Earlier in the week, Google unveiled the latest version of Android - Android 6.0 - or for those with a sweet tooth, Marshmallow.
Marshmallow is due to begin rolling out to some Nexus devices starting from next week and other manufacturers are already highlighting when the update will be able for their own brands.
Over at Mobile Madhouse, they have produced a really nice infographic showing how the evolution of the Android OS has unfolded.
The infographic incorporates the latest information in the Android world and interestingly, includes BlackBerry as an Android manufacturer with their upcoming BlackBerry PRIV smartphone.
PRIV is scheduled to launch later this calendar year in major markets in-store and online, and has been generating a lot of buzz and a massive amount of positive interest, not only from BlackBerry users but from Android users as well.
Users will not only have a secure all-touch device with high-end specs, they will have a physical keyboard that BlackBerry are exceptional at producing.

The infographic includes a selection of devices that are designed to best represent ‘key devices’ in the history of Android. 2015 ‘key devices’ included are the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and notably, the BlackBerry PRIV.
Considering the fact that launch dates and final hardware and specs of the PRIV have not yet been officially announced, being included as a ‘key device’ highlights the perceived importance of BlackBerry’s first ever Android smartphone.
BlackBerry are not renowned for their marketing prowess (to put it nicely) and how they promote the device will be crucial.  However, this smartphone is showing indications that it will market itself and that can only be a good thing.
All indications still point to the PRIV being available from November, with most major carriers stocking the device and anticipation is high.
If BlackBerry “can deliver”, the PRIV could be a phone that people look back on in years to come as a game-changer in the mobile industry.
