Evernote has announced that it will be discontinuing support for Skitch on multiple platforms, its Evernote Clearly browser extension, along with Evernote for Pebble smartwatches.
The Clearly extension made web pages more readable, and Skitch for Windows and mobile platforms made annotating images easy. Evernote state that you can find the most popular features from both these apps in many versions of Evernote and Web Clipper.
Versions of the Skitch app for Windows, iOS, and Android will all be discontinued. However, Skitch will still be offered for OS X.
When it comes to Evernote for Pebble smartwatches, the company suggests using the Powernoter Pebble app, which lets users create Evernote notes with their voice.
Evernote will no longer be updating any of these products and will pull them from the various app stores on after January 22, 2016.
If you currently use any of these apps, you’ll find that they may continue to work for some time beyond January. Evernote are not turning these apps “off,†but external changes like updates to your operating system or browser may break features or functionality at any point in the future.
