Pulse Secure Hires Alex Thurber As Chief Revenue Officer

Pulse Secure has announced that Alex Thurber is joining the executive team as Chief Revenue Officer, where he will be responsible for global sales strategy, management and team development.

The Thurber hire comes after Pulse Secure earlier this month announced a distribution partnership with SecureWave, an Israeli data security and IT infrastructure value-added distributor.

SecureWave is helping Pulse Secure grow its sales channel across Israel to meet accelerating demand for zero-trust security solutions, the companies said. It also provides sales and technical enablement, lead generation and an educational program to Pulse Secure partners.

Pulse Secure’s zero-trust security solutions enable organizations to securely access applications and information in data center and cloud environments and comply with industry mandates, the company stated.

In addition, these solutions are used by over 23,000 enterprises and service providers worldwide.

“We are committed to providing the easiest, most effective solutions for enterprises to secure access to applications and data across their hybrid IT environments,” said Sudhakar Ramakrishna, CEO of Pulse Secure.

“We are excited to have Alex join our team and spearhead our forward momentum in the marketplace. Alex has the experience to drive growth of our industry-renowned Zero Trust solutions into an ever-evolving security landscape.”

Thurber has a stellar track record as a sales executive with a deep history in technology.

Previously, he served as Senior Vice President, General Manager of BlackBerry’s Mobility Solutions Business Unit, where he transformed the hardware BU into a mobility solutions licensing group.

Immediately prior to joining BlackBerry, he was VP of worldwide sales for advanced security solutions vendor WatchGuard.

Before that, he held a similar role with software security company Tripwire and headed worldwide channels and commercial sales operations at McAfee. He also held multiple positions with Cisco Systems and founded network solutions and security company, Thurber Works.

“Enterprises are faced with the weight of transforming their businesses to meet the productivity needs of their employees and customers while ensuring access to their applications and information are protected and compliant,” commented Thurber.

“Businesses are looking to companies like Pulse Secure to address challenging IT and security issues, and I am excited to join the team and continue the great success we’ve built.”
