Fender has tendered a series of applications to enable the guitar giant to use their headstock shape in potential NFT products and virtual goods.
The trademark aims to use the headstock shape in NFTs, crypto-collectables, and virtual goods such as digital artwork, photographs, videos, and audio recordings.
Trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis posted the submission to the United States Patents and Trademarks Office (USPTO) on Twitter with the trademark aiming to use the headstock shape in NFTs, crypto-collectables, and virtual goods such as digital artwork, photographs, videos, and audio recordings.

It wouldn’t be the first move like this from a guitar manufacturer with Gibson selling NFTs of some of their popular electric guitars, but it’s unclear at this stage the reasoning behind the application.
It looks likely that the move is a defensive one that will pay dividends down the road to avoid digital violations along the way, ensuring they’re remaining with the times while keeping their business options broad.
