Huawei P30 Pro update brings ultra-low latency bluetooth, DC dimming and more

Huawei has pushed out an OTA update for the Huawei P30 Pro that brings improvements to the to the screen and audio playback.

The EMUI 9.1.0.178 adds the DC dimming mode, preventing screen flickering. Go to Settings > Display > Eye comfort to enable Flicker reduction.

EMUI 9.1.0.178 adds Huawei’s ultra-low latency Bluetooth technology, allowing for high-quality sound and no-lag audio and video syncing, providing a thrilling listening and viewing experience. This should allow for a better multimedia experience by reducing the delay in audio transmission and allow for better sync between the audio and the video.

Photo quality has been Improved, making colours appear more natural and authentic. Where the display colours were abnormal in certain scenarios has been fixed as well as the abnormal display of videos recorded by the front camera.

The issue Where the screen does not turn off automatically in certain scenarios has also been fixed.

Coming to security, there is now the option to enrol a second face. and fingerprint authentication has been improved. It is advisable to re-enrol your fingerprints for an improved user experience.

EMUI 9.1.0.178 allows for messages and notifications to display on a locked screen with live wallpaper.

Finally, EMUI 9.1.0.178 optimises system stability, for smoother overall performance.

Huawei is rolling out the EMUI 9.1.0.178 update in a staged manner to all Huawei P30 Pro units around the world. You can manually check for the OTA update by going to Settings > Systems > About Phone.
