Virgin Media O2 launches online Football transfer tracking tool

New transfer centre tool from Virgin Media O2 allows football fans to keep up to date with transfers from across the globe

Virgin Media O2 has launched an online football transfer tool that allows fans to keep up to date with all of the transfers in the world of football.

The new online transfer centre tool, which allows users to track all football transfers with personalised filters such as searching by club, league and country, is available for all football fans to use.

It comes with days remaining in the January transfer window for Premier League clubs with many set to bolster their squads with big money signings.

As part of the launch of the new tool, new research commissioned by Virgin Media O2 has revealed fans’ attitudes and views of the current state of football transfers.

It has revealed that three quarters (75%) of football fans believe transfer fees are too high in the modern game with more than half (56%) wanting to see caps on transfer fees and salaries.

Football fans were also polled on the best and worst transfers in recent times. Andy Carroll’s big-money move to Liverpool in 2011 has been voted as the WORST ever Premier League signing while Eric Cantona’s signing for Manchester United from Leeds for just £1.2m in 1992 was voted the best ever value for money.

David Bouchier, Chief TV & Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, said:

“Football fans love nothing more than talking about transfer gossip and that is why we have launched a new live transfer tracking tool to keep them up to date with the latest ins and outs.

“As our research has shown, fans have a clear passion for how their club navigates the transfer window with strong views on what makes a good or bad signing. The January transfer window looks set to conclude in exciting fashion with many players set to be on the move so fans can be confident in our online transfer tool to keep them one step ahead of the game.”

Virgin Media provides a stress-free way for football fans to watch Premier League, English Football League, UEFA Champions League and Europa League matches on Sky Sports, BT Sport and Amazon Prime Video, all in one place.
