The BlackBerry Power Wireless Charging Pad has been launched by Optiemus Infracom in India. The BlackBerry Wireless Charger is Qi-enabled, has a power output of 5W, and is available in India from today.
The BlackBerry Wireless Charger is branded as a “Wireless Charging Pad for BlackBerry Evolve X“, but due to the fact that it uses the Qi Wireless charging standard, it is compatible with most wireless charging capable Android phones and also iPhone models released in 2017 or later.
The BlackBerry Wireless Charger has a USB Type-C input and can output 5W of power. That’s a bit on the slower side as 10W and 15W wireless chargers are more commonplace these days. It does support Quick Charge 2.0 though, and has an LED charge indicator to show charging status.
Being slim and portable seems to be the company’s main selling point for the charger, and it’s cross ecosystem compatibility for eligible Android and Apple devices may see it garner considerable attention.
However, the charging speed will be a bit of a concern, since it can only wirelessly charge a device by 25 percent in one hour, which is disappointing.
It features a non-slip charging surface, weighs 54.4 grams and is only available in Black.
BlackBerry Power Wireless Charger is available from Amazon India for Rs. 2,499.
