Octopus Energy and Uber have teamed up to offer Uber drivers a Free EV Charger.
The first 1,000 eligible drivers to apply will get a free Ohme ePod for cheap, simple home charging on Intelligent Octopus Go, the UK’s most popular EV tariff.
Based on Octopus Energy’s calculated based on an annual mileage of 7,600 miles, the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff can save drivers up to £400 a year compared to a standard variable energy tariff – with that saving rising to £700 compared to a comparative ICE car.
In the case of Uber drivers, their annual mileage is likely to be much higher than this figure, highlighting the significant savings Uber drivers could see by making the switch.
While Uber hopes to become a zero-emission mobility platform right across the UK by 2030, it has even more ambitious goals for London, aiming to make every car available on the Uber app in the capital fully-electric by the end of the year.
So far, around 40% of Uber miles travelled in the capital take place in zero-emission vehicles. This new partnership will assist Uber in reaching both this 2025 target, and its wider 2030 goal.
