BlackBerry is enhancing capabilities for its Unified Endpoint Management platform designed to address data residency requirements and sovereign endpoint control needs.
The upcoming UEM release will include AI-assisted operations, post-quantum cryptography features, expanded macOS support, multi-tenant management capabilities and secure file sharing enhancements, according to a press release statement.
BlackBerry is expanding macOS management within UEM through its on-premises deployment model, allowing organizations to manage Apple, Windows and Android devices from a single console without cloud dependency.
The company stated that BlackBerry UEM is certified by Germany’s Federal Office for Information Security under Common Criteria for managing Apple and Samsung devices in government environments.A
The platform will upgrade cryptographic libraries on devices and align with NIST post-quantum standards as part of its path toward FIPS 140-3 accreditation. These updates are intended to embed quantum-resistant protections from the UEM server to secured applications on end-user devices.
“Organizations should not have to choose between modern capabilities and sovereign control,” said Nathan Jenniges, Senior Vice President and General Manager, BlackBerry Secure Communications.
The release will introduce expanded multi-tenant management capabilities to support service providers and enterprise and government estates requiring separation between departments, agencies or customers. A modernised UEM console aims to reduce operational complexity while supporting scale in on-premises environments.
AI-assisted capabilities will be optional and can be enabled at an organization’s discretion. Enhancements to secure file-sharing will embed access controls directly into documents so protection travels with the file itself.
The new capabilities are expected to be available in summer 2026, with select management and multi-tenant console enhancements becoming generally available later in 2026.
