BBM for BlackBerry 10 Beta gets an upgrade, bringing custom PINs and Ad Free options

BlackBerry have released another upgrade to the the beta of BBM for BlackBerry 10, bringing the same new features introduced with the BBM for iOS Beta earlier today.

New Features
BBM will now offer a new service called Subscriptions that will allow users to pay for exclusive access to specific features. Iincluded in this first release of Subscriptions:

  • Vanity PINs: have a fun idea for a PIN? Looking for an easier PIN to communicate with friends? Try out this new feature and customize your own personal BBM PIN!
  • Remove Ads: hide sponsored ads and sponsored invites in BBM with this subscription.
  • Avatar Badging: Show off your special BBM status with a badge. This badge also appears on display pictures that have an active subscription.

Subscriptions can be purchased using available payment methods in the BBM Shop. Subscriptions is available at a monthly cost and requires ongoing payments to continue the subscription.

Premium IPTV in the UK

The custom PIN options cost $1.99 per month, while the option to remove ads is $0.99 per month. This is a beta, so there is no guarantee that these will be the final prices.

A free one-month trial of access to all BBM Subscriptions options is included for testers.

Known Issues

  • Group Invite via Custom PIN is not sent when the two users are already BBM contacts.

Please note that Current chats will be lost by installing this version of BBM.

The beta is currently available in the BlackBerry Beta Zone but appears to be a limited beta.
