South African man just can’t swallow his BlackBerry

BlackBerry smartphones are like Marmite, you either love them or hate them. Prising a BlackBerry from somebody who loves them is not an easy task. Medics in South Africa discovered this as they had to use forceps to remove a BlackBerry phone from an unidentified man in Klerksdorp, South Africa.

The above video footage shows the unidentified patient in Klerksdorp, South Africa, lying on a gurney with medics gathered around him to view the unusual procedure – some filming it on their own mobile phones.

Some of the hospital workers can be heard laughing as forceps are used to pull the BlackBerry phone from the patient’s mouth.

The footage, recorded by Edwin Shingo who was present at the time of the extraordinary procedure, dates from 2012 but has gone viral this weekend after being posted on video sharing site LiveLeak.

There is no explanation of why the BlackBerry Was there in the first place.
