BlackBerry Android Smartphone allegedly to be called “Avenger”?

As expected, BlackBerry made no appearance or official announcement of their upcoming Android smartphone at IFA 2015.

Instead, they announced that they had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Good Technology.

Unfortunately, BlackBerry’s biggest ever corporate acquisition has not quelled the rumors surrounding the upcoming Android smartphone.

A new rumour has surfaced from Mobilectrl alleging that the market name of the Android phone will be the “Avenger”.

The name Avenger will be a huge surprise to many and it is not up to me to state whether the rumour is false or not.

However, Blackberry users should be aware that back in May of this year, Samsung, in collaboration with Marvel, released the Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, an Iron Man limited edition Samsung Galaxy S6 edge device. It was a limited edition with only 1,000 units produced.

Taking this into consideration, it means one of two things. The name Avenger is just another fabricated rumour or the upcoming slider is HUGE, as it will mean a collaboration between BlackBerry, Samsung and Marvel.

You can make your own mind up on the rumored name.

As an aside, the rumour also alleged that there will be no Passport variant that runs Android.
