QNX launches QNX Launchpad

QNX Launchpad targets startups, small and medium-sized businesses with annual revenues up to $10 million

QNX has launched QNX Launchpad, a program offering startups access to commercial-grade software for mission-critical applications at reduced costs.

The program provides qualifying companies with access to QNX software development platform 8.0, including QNX OS, QNX OS for Safety, QNX Hypervisor and QNX Hypervisor for Safety, QNX Sound and other products from the QNX portfolio, according to a press release statement. Participants also receive technical support and embedded engineering expertise.

QNX Launchpad targets startups, small and medium-sized businesses with annual revenues up to $10 million developing products for commercial sale. Companies participating in recognized incubator or accelerator programs receive additional benefits.

“Too many promising companies are forced to make foundational software decisions based on short-term budget realities, rather than what their products will ultimately need to perform safely and reliably in the real world,” said Grant Courville, SVP of Product and Strategy at QNX.

The program aims to enable early-stage companies to use commercial software from the beginning of development through commercial deployment. QNX technology is currently used in vehicles and systems across industrial controls, robotics, medical devices, commercial transportation, rail, and aerospace and defense.

The initiative complements QNX Everywhere, which provides free, non-commercial access for learning, evaluation and prototyping. Companies can apply for QNX Launchpad directly or after using QNX Everywhere.
