Samsung Galaxy 2019 Unpacked event taking place on February 20

Samsung has announced that it will be holding its Samsung Galaxy 2019 Unpacked event on February 20. In an invitation sent out to the press, a vertically-oriented “10” is displayed, which leaves no doubt about what will be announced. The 10 also refers to the fact that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Galaxy S family.

The event itself will take place at the Billy Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco at 11am, but will be live streamed for those that can’t be in attendance.

There will apparently be multiple variants of the Galaxy S10, starting off with a Galaxy S10 Lite, which is rumoured to feature a 5.8-inch display and a single rear camera. The step-up model will be the mainline Galaxy S10, which will have a 6.1-inch Infinity-O display and dual rear cameras. There will also be a Galaxy S10 Plus and a flagship Galaxy S10 5G.

The latter model is expected to feature a 6.7-inch display, dual rear cameras, dual selfie cameras and 5G connectivity.

While the Galaxy S10 will take centre stage at the February 20th event, it may be upstaged by Samsung’s folding smartphone. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Samsung will show off the production version of its folding smartphone, which could be called Galaxy F or Galaxy Fold.

The Galaxy F’s Infinity Flex display measures 7.3 inches and features a resolution of 2152×1535. It also has a secondary 4.58-inch display with a resolution of 840×1960 that can be used when the primary display is folded.

It’s expected that the Galaxy F will be priced close to £1,176 ($1,500 USD) or more when it launches and that there will be only around 1 million units produced.
