​The latest BlackBerry 7.1 OS and BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0.SP4 have been assessed by CESG and found to be suitable for handling HMG information protectively marked RESTRICTED, or OFFICIAL under the new government classification scheme.
The BlackBerry Enterprise Solutionâ„¢ has been assessed as suitable for handling HMG information protectively marked RESTRICTED (Impact Level 3) provided that BlackBerry Enterprise Solution Administrators follow the CESG Security Procedures. This approval refers to all data passing through the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution.
The BlackBerry Smart Card Reader, the PGP Support Package for Blackberry smartphones and the S/MIME Support Package for BlackBerry smartphones have also been assessed by CESG and found to be suitable for use for handling HMG information protectively marked RESTRICTED (Impact Level 3). Advice on the use of these products is given in the CESG Security Procedures.
The current version of the Security Procedures for BlackBerry Enterprise Solution Administrators is Issue 2.7.
