This study focuses on UEM solutions holistically

BlackBerry has been named a Leader for a consecutive year in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Unified Endpoint Management Software 2021 Vendor Assessment. The IDC MarketScape report analysed the UEM market holistically and highlighted BlackBerry’s strength in endpoint management and security, data security and containerization and broad partnerships and integrations.

This study focuses on UEM solutions holistically, with considerations for the broadest set of deployment scenarios and requirements. According to the report,

“BlackBerry has a strong solution around secure app development, deployment, and life-cycle management, with specific focus on data security and containerization.  This has been a must-have requirement for many companies in regulated industries with high requirements for data security and device/app compliance auditing.”

The report went on to say,

“With Cylance-powered BlackBerry Spark UES, the company has an extensive endpoint management/security technology portfolio, along with a newly introduced mobile threat management solution BlackBerry Protect Mobile, and its BlackBerry Persona user behaviour analytics and continuous authentication solution.”

The report highlighted notable strengths for BlackBerry UEM which include:

  • Support for the four most widely used device OS’s (Windows 10, iOS, Android and macOS) while extending OEM standards and deployment mobile frameworks.
  • Advanced feature support for Windows 10 device management, app delivery, and policy enforcement.
  • Support for remote work and BYOD as strong points for the company.
  • BlackBerry’s broad set of security/industry compliance certifications (FedRAMP, FIPS 140-2, NIAP, Common Criteria EAL 4+) that underscore the company’s security pedigree for the federal sector and regulated industries.

In addition, the IDC MarketScape acknowledged that:

“BlackBerry has among the broadest partnering and integration lineup of mobile operators worldwide among any UEM vendor. Major carriers in every region support and resell BlackBerry Spark UEM and other solutions, making BlackBerry an attractive choice for both enterprises and SMBs.”

Baldeep Dogra, Director, Product Marketing at BlackBerry commented:
