Christy Wyatt leaves BlackBerry

Good Technology CEO Christy Wyatt leaves the company she sold to BlackBerry

In 2013, Good Technology hired former Motorola executive Christy Wyatt to replace outgoing CEO King Lee. She promptly shook up the management staff and raised $65 million in private equity investment.

In May 2014, Good filed paperwork hoping for a $100 million IPO which never happened.

Instead, Wyatt raised another $80 million in private funding and debated what an exit would look like.

That exit resulted in Good selling itself to BlackBerry for $425 million and Wyatt leaving the company.

Previously Wyatt said that how she would fit into the new company remained to be worked out.

“We are just starting the conversations around what the organization is going to look like,” she said.

“I am committed to staying and supporting this to make sure the transaction is successful.

Spokespeople from both Good and BlackBerry have confirmed Wyatt has left the company but gave no reason for her departure.

A BlackBerry spokesperson stated:

“With the final approval of the acquisition, we can confirm that Christy has left BlackBerry,”

“We wish her the best in her future endeavors.”
