Jeff Gadway quits BlackBerry

BlackBerry have confirmed that another of their high profile employees has opted to leave the company as Jeff Gadway, Director, Product Marketing – Enterprise, has now left BlackBerry for pastures new.

In a short email statement BlackBerry stated:

We can confirm that Jeff Gadway has made the decision to leave BlackBerry. We thank him for his contributions and wish him well.

Gadway has been with BlackBerry since 2007, kicking off an almost 8 year career with BlackBerry as a carrier marketing specialist. In March 2010, he was promoted to Manager, Whole Product Marketing – BlackBerry PlayBook, followed by another move to Senior Manager, Brand Strategy & Product Marketing.

In August of 2013, seven months after the launch of BlackBerry 10, he became Head of Product Marketing, BBM until September 2014, when he received his final promotion to Director, Product Marketing – Enterprise.

While he was responsible for the enterprise marketing team working closely with product management, sales and the rest of the marketing organization, Gadway is probably best known by BlackBerry fans for his on-stage presentations, where he became the face of the product launches.

While BlackBerry merely confirmed to us that Gadway had opted to leave BlackBerry, we are informed that he has joined Vidyard, a startup at Communitech in Waterloo.

Why BlackBerry don’t seem to be able to keep hold of their high profile staff is a mystery!
