Huawei will invest US$3.1 billion over the next three years in Italy, Xinhua reported, quoting local media. Addressing the press on the sidelines of an exhibition in Milan, Huawei’s Italian unit chief executive Thomas Miao said the investment plan would allow 1,000 new direct jobs in the period 2019-2021.
Huawei and Sawa Rights Management, a TV channel aggregator and content service provider, have announced a strategic partnership. As part of the partnership Sawa and Huawei will implement a new cloud-based convergent video service.

During GSMA’s MWC19 Shanghai, 5G commercial networks have been officially launched inside the Shanghai New International Expo Center. It has been hard to miss but back in May the US commerce department added trade restrictions on Huawei and discontinued its business with American firms, and now the Trump government’s acting chief is asking for a postpone in restrictions on Huawei’s products.

The US Department of Commerce has issued a licence allowing US companies to keep doing business with Huawei for the next three months. The company now has a Temporary General License to engage with U.S. vendors on a limited basis.
Google has revoked Huawei's Android license, restricting Huawei from some updates to Android. The company has suspended business with Huawei that requires the transfer of hardware and software products except those covered by open source licenses.

Huawei has unveiled the Mate X, a luxury 5G phone with a folding screen.  the Mate X is a strikingly attractive device that will give owners three screens effectively. When folded, it has a 6.6-inch 2480 x 1148 resolution main screen, a 6.38-inch screen on the rear and when it’s unfolded the Mate X transforms into a stunningly immersive 8-inch tablet with a 2480 x 2200 resolution display. 
Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona is just a few weeks away and Huawei has teased a looming announcement of a folding smartphone at the event. Huawei has taken to Twitter to announce an event at Mobile World Congress on February 24th at 2PM Barcelona time / 8AM ET, just days after Samsung's annual Unpacked festivities.
The US justice department has filed charges against Chinese company Huawei.  A 13-count indictment was unsealed in New York charging Huawei, two of its affiliates and a senior executive at the company. The charges include bank fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
