Android 4.4 KitKat OS Rolls out on LG G2 in the U.S.

Exemplifying LG Electronics’ commitment to providing the best mobile user experience, Sprint customers using LG’s popular G2 smartphone will start receiving the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system upgrade this week, with Verizon coming soon. This comes on the heels of LG G2 KitKat upgrades that AT&T and T-Mobile users have also already started receiving.

“Continuing to improve the consumer user experience is our top priority. We’re excited to deliver the Android KitKat software update so LG G2 users enjoy a seamless mobile experience,” said Morris Lee, senior vice president and head of North American sales and marketing, LG MobileComm. “This reflects our ongoing commitment to work closely with carriers and partners to distribute the latest software updates more regularly to our newest flagship devices in the U.S.”

With the Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade, LG G2 receives a significant speed boost, allowing the device to run applications faster and, with the Chromium engine, Web browsing is quicker, too, based on internal testing. The LG G2 now also plays music more efficiently and supports a battery-saving location mode, extending battery life so users can surf the web, watch video or read emails longer. What’s more, with KitKat, a useful new feature called Google Cloud Printer makes it easy to print documents via Wi-Fi or a Bluetooth connection.[signoff predefined=”Enjoy this?” icon=”icon-users”][/signoff]
