Apple has released iOS 12.1.3 for iPhone and iPad bringing bug fixes and improving performance of existing functions, with no major changes to existing features.
This update fixes an issue in Messages that could impact scrolling through photos in the Details view Addresses an issue where photos could have striped artifacts after being sent from the Share Sheet.
An issue that may cause audio distortion when using external audio input devices on iPad Pro (2018) has also been fixed.
Finally, iOS 12.1.3 resolves an issue that could cause certain CarPlay systems to disconnect from iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max.
The update is available through iTunes, or as an over-the-air update in the iOS Settings app.
With iOS 12.1, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR gained Dual SIM support, featuring a nano-SIM and digital eSIM. Users can now activate an additional cellular plan from a carrier without having to use a physical nano-SIM.
In most regions the second SIM is actually an eSIM, though with Chinese iPhones, users must use a second physical card.
