BlackBerry roll out BlackBerry 10 Android Runtime update

Numerous BlackBerry users discovered that after updating to BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.2.2876, they were unable to uninstall Android applications.

Upon uninstalling an Android application, the application icon was removed from the home screen, however, the application was still installed on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone.

This was a pretty severe bug for those BlackBerry 10 users who rely on Android with their BlackBerry 10 devices.

BlackBerry have rolled out an update to the BlackBerry Runtime for Android on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone.

Note that this is not a complete update to the BlackBerry 10 OS, it is an update to the Android Runtime on the OS that resolves the afore mentioned issue.

It should also be noted that if you are not experiencing issues with your Android Runtime, you do not need to install the update.

To update the BlackBerry Runtime for Android, visit the following URL from the browser of your BlackBerry 10 smartphone:

https://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/39879918.

It should be noted that once you update the Runtime, do nothing else. Restart your smartphone immediately.
