Apple has released iOS 15.4.1, bringing overall performance enhancements and security improvements.
The update fixes an issues where an iPhone’s battery may drain more quickly than expected after updating to iOS 15.4.
iOS 15.4.1 comes with a security fix for a major issue that is already being used by adversaries to attack iPhones, patching a vulnerability in Apple AVD, which could allow an application to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges.
Apple says it is “aware of a report that the issue may have been actively exploited”. For that reason, it is highly recommended that users upgrade to iOS 15.4.1 as soon as possible.
In addition, iOS 15.4.1 fixes issues where made for iPhone hearing devices may lose connection within some third-party apps and braille devices may become unresponsive while navigating text or displaying an alert.
iOS 15.4.1 is available for iPhone 6s and later, iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad mini 4 and later, and iPod touch (7th generation)
You can download the update by opening the Settings app and going to General > Software Update.
