While Samsung are expected to launch their Galaxy S20 series on February 11, there is a huge ton of interest being shown in the company’s first folding flip phone, the Galaxy Z Flip ( as it may, or may not, be known).
The Galaxy Flip is expected to be smaller than Samsung’s Galaxy Fold and rival the Motorola Razr flip phone, which is currently available to pre-order from EE. It could unfold into a 6.7-inch screen, unlike the Galaxy Fold, which has a 7.3-inch screen that bends in half to open like a book.
Twitter user Ben Geskin has published a video he obtained which is ellagedly by someone who is testing the Galaxy Z Flip in a controlled environment.
The device is clearly an engineering sample, with the phone, once opened and unlocked, showing a Samsung security consent form. There are also unique watermarks on the side of the phone to identify the holder.
The video shows a small 1-inch ticker OLED, which shows the time and date and, presumably, incoming notifications.
Once opened you can see the phone’s tall inner display, which is expected to be covered by the first iteration of a folding glass that should make it more difficult to damage with everyday use.
